The MUD Gallery, once known as the Hamilton Institute of Rural Learning (HIRL) Gallery, got its name of ‘MUD’ from whose who were inspired by the ‘salt of the earth’, while still paying tribute to the Hamilton Institute of Rural Learning’s mud brick buildings located on North Boundary Road.
